Connecting Threads
Threads connects with one authorisation login. It has the highest daily cap of any platform here, and the shortest caption limit.
Connection steps
- 1
Add account → Threads
Channels → Add account → Threads → Connect.
- 2
Sign in and approve
Threads shares its account system with Instagram, so the login window may show your Instagram name. That is expected — as long as it is the Threads account you want.
- 3
Check the list
The account appears under Accounts with its handle.
Limits
- Video up to 5 minutes, 9:16 or 1:1.
- Caption up to 500 characters — the shortest of every platform here.
- A cap of 250 posts a day, the highest of any platform here.
Writing captions for Threads
500 characters is less than it sounds
Write one caption for both TikTok and Threads and it will almost certainly be cut on Threads. On the publishing screen, use the per-platform override to write a shorter version just for Threads.
Hashtags do not drive distribution on Threads the way they do on TikTok. Spend the characters on a strong opening line instead — hashtags only eat into a tight budget.
Common problems
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The caption is truncated | The text exceeded 500 characters. | Write a Threads-specific version on the publishing screen. |
| You connected the wrong account | The browser still held another Instagram session. | Disconnect, sign out in the browser, and reconnect — the wrongly connected account keeps its slot held for 7 days, so it occupies an extra channel slot meanwhile. |
| Videos longer than 5 minutes will not publish | They exceed Threads' limit. | Trim the video, or send the long version to a different platform. |
