Connecting Facebook

We publish to Facebook Pages, not personal timelines. Each post can go out as a Reel or as a regular video.

Before you start

  • The destination is a Page, not a personal profile. Facebook does not let third-party apps post to personal timelines.
  • You must administer the Page, or at least hold content-creation rights on it. The Facebook account you authorise with needs those rights before you connect.
  • Each Page takes its own channel slot, even if several Pages share one account.

Connection steps

  1. 1

    Add account → Facebook

Channels → Add account → Facebook → Connect.

  2. 2

Pick the Page in the Facebook popup

Facebook lists the Pages you manage. Tick the one you want. Ticking several creates several channels, each consuming its own slot.

  3. 3

    Approve every permission

Do not switch anything off on the final screen. Without content management the post cannot publish; without engagement permissions auto-commenting will not run.

Reels or regular video

The publishing screen offers a destination choice for Facebook.

DestinationBest forNote
ReelsShort vertical 9:16 video aimed at organic reach.Facebook favours Reels in distribution. A landscape video published as a Reel gets black bars.
Regular videoLandscape or longer video meant to be watched at length.Appears in the Page's timeline as an ordinary video post.

Limits

  • Video up to 45 minutes.
  • Captions can run past 63,000 characters — in practice, length is not a concern.
  • A cap of 50 posts a day per Page.

A high cap is not an invitation

The 50-post cap is a technical limit. The recommended level for keeping reach is still 5 posts per channel per day — publishing denser usually suppresses distribution rather than increasing it.
